Blaze Prompts Evacuations in Okanogan County

Over 1,000 Firefighters Battling Flames

An estimated 10,000-acre wildfire ignited southwest of Oroville, Washington, on Saturday afternoon. The Eagle Bluff Fire has rapidly spread across lands managed by the Washington Department of Natural Resources.

The fire has destroyed multiple structures and forced the evacuation of residents on both sides of the US-Canada border. Over 1,000 firefighters are currently working to contain the blaze.

According to the Okanogan County Sheriff's Office, the fire is burning west of Oroville Wash and poses a significant threat to homes and businesses in the area. Residents have been urged to evacuate immediately.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Officials from the Department of Natural Resources are monitoring the situation closely and coordinating efforts to suppress the wildfire.
