Real Madrid 390
The teams come into the second leg on even footing
What happened in the first leg?
Real Madrid and Manchester City played out a thrilling 3-3 draw in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final tie at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday evening. The visitors took the lead in the 12th minute when Rodrygo pounced on a loose ball in the City penalty area and fired home. However, City were level just two minutes later when Oleksandr Zinchenko's cross was met by Gabriel Jesus at the far post. City then took the lead for the first time in the 21st minute when Kevin De Bruyne's through ball found Erling Haaland, who slotted home past Thibaut Courtois. But Real were back on level terms again in the 28th minute when Karim Benzema converted a penalty after being fouled by Aymeric Laporte. The second half was just as entertaining as the first, with both teams creating chances to win the game. However, neither side could find a winning goal, and the match ended 3-3. The result leaves the tie finely poised ahead of the second leg at the Bernabeu next week. Real Madrid will be confident of reaching the final, but Manchester City will be no pushovers, and they will be determined to overturn the deficit and reach the final themselves.
